Looking at the thread more closely now, it seems like there's some consensus about which albums are good places to start the headbanger's journey. Do you guys think it might be a good idea to write a more in-depth article/guide on the subject? "Metal 101 for newbies" or something in that vein?

Yes Tanhald! I've always thought about writing a Metal 101 article, but where could one theoretically start? But that is a seriously good idea. I was also thinking of doing a "newbie buyers guide" to certain bands with large discographies as well.

Yeah, it is harder than it sounds. But we should definitely look into it and see if we could make a guide of some sort.

The newbie buyer's guide sounds good too, and it should also be a bit easier to write.

I'm definitely into this idea a lot too...  Let me know what your thoughts are...

You guys may very well be on to something! Let's put it together, it opens all sorts of interesting possibilities. Talking with Tanhald about this right now...

Incidentally, I am listening to To Die For, and THAT is the #1 band for turning chicks into metal Smiley
