If you don't feel comfortable posting on Facebook, then you may answer this thread.  Here are the questions.

1. Was your first musical influence male or female and what about them inspired you?

2. Why do you think the mainstream music scene is dominated by male performers?

3. What is the most difficult barrier to women in music?

4. How do women measure their success in music compared to the way men do?

5. What do you feel is the most prominent instrument played by women, and why?

6. What do you feel is the least likely instrument to be played by a woman, and why?

7. Which music genre do you think women are most accepted?

8. Do you see the role of women in music shifting in the future?

9. What can we do to change the current state of women in music?

10. How do you see the future for women in music?

Fine, I'll help you with your school work Tongue

1. Was your first musical influence male or female and what about them inspired you?
No idea, that would be very hard to pinpoint.

2. Why do you think the mainstream music scene is dominated by male performers?
Probably because half of them are just in it for the pussy.  I don't know, it's kind of like asking why the video game scene or the martial arts scene is dominated by males - it's not that they're less capable or discriminated against, I just don't think most women care as much about being in bands and such.

3. What is the most difficult barrier to women in music?
Probably having to look a certain way, but that goes both ways.  But I will admit that female musicians generally take a lot more crap for being fat than male musicians.  Plus it's not always considered acceptable for them to act out anger and aggression the way men do.

4. How do women measure their success in music compared to the way men do?
Again, it probably has less to do with groupies and more with personal fulfillment.

5. What do you feel is the most prominent instrument played by women, and why?
Probably piano, I'm not sure why.

6. What do you feel is the least likely instrument to be played by a women, and why?
This is kind of a loaded question.  I think any answer could be construed as sexist.

7. Which music genre do you think women are most accepted?
I don't think it's that much of an issue.  Right now, having a girl in your band is kind of seen as a gimmick or a novelty, although still a positive thing.

8. Do you see the role of women in music shifting in the future?
Continuing from the last question, I think the novelty factor will eventually wear off as it becomes the norm and then hopefully it won't even be an issue any more.

9. What can we do to change the current state of women in music?
People in general just need to be less stereotypical and materialistic, which includes judging people on appearances, whether it be positively or negatively.

10. How do you see the future for women in music?
I'd like to see more fat chicks forming death metal bands.
